Privacy Policy

How ScriptSync collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated 8 October 2026.

Who we are

ScriptSync provides online repeat prescription ordering for Australian pharmacies, through this website (scriptsync.com.au) and the ScriptSync portal that pharmacies and their patients use. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “ScriptSync” mean the business that operates them. You can contact us at hello@scriptsync.com.au.

We handle personal information in two different ways, and this policy covers both: information you give us through this website, and patient information we process on behalf of pharmacies.

Information you give us through this website

If you ask for a demo, the form collects:

  • your name, your pharmacy’s name and your email address;
  • your phone number, if you choose to give it;
  • which dispensing system you use; and
  • anything you choose to tell us in the optional message.

We use these details to reply to you and arrange your demo, and for nothing else. Your request is sent to us by email, so it is handled by our email delivery provider (see “Who we share information with”). You can also email us directly instead of using the form.

To keep the form from being abused, we limit how often it can be submitted from one internet address, so our hosting provider processes your IP address when you use it. We don’t log what you type into the form beyond the email we receive.

Patient information in ScriptSync

When a pharmacy uses ScriptSync, we process its patients’ information on the pharmacy’s behalf. The pharmacy decides who to invite: there is no public sign-up, and patients are invited by email.

The information involved includes:

  • patient details such as name and contact details;
  • scripts and repeats, and the orders patients place for them;
  • order and payment status, and delivery or pickup choices; and
  • the emails we send about an order. These never name a medicine, and ScriptSync keeps an audit log of the actions taken in the portal.

We use this information only to provide ScriptSync to the pharmacy. The pharmacy remains responsible for the information it holds about its patients, so if you are a patient and want to see or correct your information, please ask your pharmacy. We will help the pharmacy respond.

Where a pharmacy has switched on the Minfos integration, patients, doctors, products and scripts sync between Minfos and ScriptSync as that pharmacy has chosen.

Payments

Patients pay by card on eWAY’s secure hosted payment page. Card numbers never pass through ScriptSync or the pharmacy. eWAY handles card details under its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation that a payment has gone through, not the card details. Payments recorded at the counter (EFTPOS, cash or bank transfer) are recorded against the order by pharmacy staff.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only where it’s needed to run the service:

  • with the pharmacy whose patients or staff it relates to;
  • with the service providers that help us operate: Cloudflare (website hosting), Resend (email delivery) and eWAY (card payments); and
  • where the law requires or allows it.

We don’t sell personal information. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia.

Cookies and tracking

This website doesn’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don’t set cookies to track you across the web.

Keeping information safe

ScriptSync was designed around keeping health information safe, and we describe what we do on our security page. No system is completely secure, so if you think your information has been misused, please tell us straight away.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as it’s needed for the purposes described in this policy, as a pharmacy instructs us, or as the law requires.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by emailing hello@scriptsync.com.au. For patient information held on behalf of a pharmacy, we may refer your request to the pharmacy.

If you have a complaint about how we’ve handled personal information, email us and we’ll respond as soon as we can. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
